Reducing the after-burn (more)
Check your thinking - check you're not keeping yourself anxious by criticising yourself, or by telling yourself there's something you should be afraid of.
Slow your breathing - take slow steady breaths from your diaphragm, breathe out slowly and deeply.
Let go of stress - check your body for physical tension, and let it ease away.
Change your state - what are you doing? where are you? Try moving to a different place, do something different, in case there are still triggers in the environment or in what you're doing that are maintaining your anxiety.
