Something a little more interesting...
The trouble with worries is that they can be so interesting!
It feels as though they have some sort of hold over us, some sort of charm, the way our minds seem to automatically return to them. We'll often worry for a while before we catch ourselves and realise what we’re doing.
One option is to swap our worries for something much, much more interesting.
We all have our own particular favourite thoughts, fantasies, pastimes and diversions. If you catch yourself ruminating over some unpleasant thought why not stop, congratulate yourself for noticing what your mind was doing, and switch to thinking about a favourite daydream or fantasy instead?
